Settings

The Settings module lets you configure your workspace, look-and-feel, reference data, and email templates.


Accessing Settings

Click Settings in the left sidebar. A sub-menu shows all setting categories.


1. Notification Settings

The default Settings page controls email notification preferences for your account.

  1. Go to Settings in the sidebar.
  2. Under Send me notification for new, toggle on/off:
    • Projects, Comments, Tasks, Members
  3. Under Send me notification when customer, toggle on/off:
    • Sign Proposal, Calendar Event, Sign Contract, Pay Invoice
  4. Under Send me notification when, toggle on/off:
    • Create Customer, Create Invoice, Create Contract
  5. Your current Timezone is displayed on this page.
  6. Click Save.

2. General / Workspace Settings

  1. Go to Settings → General.
  2. Configure:
    • Workspace Name
    • Company Logo — upload your logo (appears on invoices, proposals, etc.)
    • Brand Color — primary accent colour used throughout the UI
    • Text Color — main text colour
    • Date Format
    • Time Format
    • Timezone
    • Language
  3. Click Save.

2. Countries

Manage the list of countries available in address forms.

  1. Go to Settings → Countries.
  2. Countries are pre-loaded. You can Enable or Disable individual countries.
  3. Disabled countries will not appear in address dropdowns.

3. Customer Groups

Groups let you segment your customer base.

  1. Go to Settings → Customer Groups.
  2. Click + Add Group.
  3. Enter a group name (e.g. Enterprise, Startup, Government).
  4. Click Save.
  5. To edit or delete, use the icons next to each group.

5. Contact Types

Define the types of contacts that can be associated with a customer (e.g. Primary, Billing, Technical).

  1. Go to Settings → Contact Types.
  2. Click + Add Contact Type.
  3. Enter a name and save.

6. Payment Modes

Define how payments can be received. See Finance → Payment Modes.


7. Expense Categories

Organise expenses into categories for reporting.

  1. Go to Settings → Expense Categories.
  2. Click + Add Category.
  3. Enter a category name (e.g. Travel, Hosting, Marketing).
  4. Click Save.

8. Status Types

Customise the status options used across projects, tasks, and other modules.

  1. Go to Settings → Status Types.
  2. Click + Add Status.
  3. Enter:
    • Status Name (e.g. On Hold, Awaiting Review)
    • Color — used as a badge colour in the UI
    • Module — which module this status applies to (Projects, Tasks, etc.)
  4. Click Save.

9. Email Templates

Customise the email content sent to clients for invoices, proposals, contracts, and more.

  1. Go to Settings → Email Templates.
  2. Select the template type (e.g. Invoice Email, Proposal Email, Contract Email).
  3. Edit the Subject and Body using the rich-text editor.
  4. Use the available placeholder variables listed on the page (e.g. {client_name}, {invoice_number}) to include dynamic data.
  5. Click Save.

11. Billing Types

Define billing models available for projects (e.g. Fixed Price, Hourly, Retainer).

  1. Go to Settings → Billing Types.
  2. Click + Add Billing Type.
  3. Enter a name and save.

12. Roles & Permissions

Control what each team member role can see and do.

  1. Go to Settings → Roles.
  2. Click + Add Role or click an existing role to edit.
  3. For each role, toggle permissions on/off for each module:
    • View, Create, Edit, Delete
    • Specific actions (e.g. Send Invoice, Mark as Paid)
  4. Click Save.

13. Units

Define measurement units used in service line items (e.g. Hours, Days, Items, Months).

  1. Go to Settings → Units.
  2. Click + Add Unit.
  3. Enter a unit name and save.

14. Tags

Tags can be applied to records across modules for quick filtering and organisation.

  1. Go to Settings → Tags.
  2. Click + Add Tag.
  3. Enter a tag name and optionally assign a colour.
  4. Click Save.

Tips

  • Update your Company Logo and Brand Colors before sending any invoices or proposals — they appear on all client-facing documents.
  • Configure Email Templates once and never worry about formatting emails manually.
  • Use Status Types to match your team's actual workflow instead of using the defaults.
  • Review Roles & Permissions before inviting team members to ensure the right access levels.
